Fake Special Adviser to the President arrested in Abuja

Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested a man parading himself as the Special Adviser to the President on Defence Matters.

According to police, the 70-year-old man, who was identified as Adamu Sule, was specialised in defrauding influential people.
He was nabbed at a house in the Maitama area of Abuja where he claimed to have met a former governor following tip-off, a police statement said.
The statement read, “Upon his arrest, the suspect confessed to the police that the claim that he served in the Army and that he is the Senior Special Adviser to the President were false.
“He also confessed that he only hides under that guise to solicit juicy contracts or financial favour from his high profile victims.”
Items recovered from the suspect included a fake identity card, bearing Col. Adamu Sule, Senior Special Adviser to the President and five business cards.
The suspect has been transferred to the command’s Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department for further investigation.
